Carrio Cabling Corporation is anticipating 20% growth, up to $1 million,in sales for 1996, and has doubled its employees since coming to ColoradoSprings three years ago.
The 10-year-old custom cable manufacturer may land on the Inc. 500 list in1996 due to its growth in the past five years. It ranked 174 on the listthe first year it was in Colorado Springs, but the move from the Los Angelesarea curtailed growth to only 10% in 1993. The following year growth wasback up to 38%, according to Glenn Carrio, president and owner of the company.
Carrio attributes the growth to new assemblies of custom products for newand existing customers.
The company manufactures specialized injection molded connections and assemblesthem with cable for companies in the medical, broadcasting and motion picture,and computer industries. Customers include Industrial Light and Magic, Unisys,and CNN. Carrio said they have no local customers but are working with GranvillePhillips in Boulder. Granville makes instruments for equipment used in chipmanufacturing.
Carrio employs 37 people and expects to hire three to four more in the nextmonth.
