During August, the Colorado Springs Airport surpassed the 3 million mark in total passengers — the first time the airport has done so in its history — with another four months still remaining in the year. Through eight months of 1996, the airport has surpassed 3.28 million total passengers. That’s more than 1.7 million passengers beyond the same period in 1995 and a half million more than all of last year.

With 248,032 enplanements last month, 47% (79,340 passengers) more than last August’s 168,692, the airport recorded its 60th boardings increase in the past 68 months, its 15th consecutive month in excess of 100,000 enplaned passengers, and its fifth month this year over 200,000 enplanements.
