Pikes Peak Family Connections an-nounced the opening of its Hearthstone Family Nurturing Center in January. Named for a business benefactor, the new center will include classroom space and a nursery to host parenting classes and support groups. To accommodate recent service expansions, P.P.F.C. will move its administrative offices and the majority of its program to 2132 E. Bijou St. in January. This growth is expected to at least double the volume of direct services provided by the child abuse-prevention agency to its client families next year. The center will offer the nurturing program parenting skills curriculum to parents with infants and children through age 18. The new parenting center is named for benefactors Dawn and Ben Warden, owners of Hearthstone Furniture, who annually donate a portion of their October sales toward P.P.F.C.?s child abuse-prevention efforts.
