It would have been a lot more meaningful if you had mentioned that retirees can also opt and choose PRIME instead of Standard. Most of us who are retirees have PRIME rather than Standard because it enables us to be be in the top tier for appointments within the military system. I have been a PRIME member since its inception and have been very pleased with the whole system. The big difference is that if you have another coverage – I have Kaiser – then Tricare becomes secondary with Kaiser primary. If I have treatment within a military facility, a claim is filed first with Kaiser and then with Tricare. But it does clarify the picture by letting your readers know that retirees can also opt for PRIME over the Standard – costs a tad more but is worth it. A good article on the whole.
