Goodwill honors 13 businesses at annual dinner

Goodwill Industries of Colorado Springs honored 13 business and four individuals at it Annual Dinner this month.

The business award winners were: Wal-Mart, Corporate Supporter of the Year; El Paso County Department of Human Services, Community Partner of the Year; Safeway Stores Inc. and Colorado Springs Child Nursery Centers, Open Door Award; Memorial Hospital, Extra Mile Award; Marian House Soup Kitchen, Extending Goodwill Award; Colorado Springs Osteopathic Foundation, Career Opportunity Award; Doubletree Hotel Colorado Springs World Arena, the United States Air Force Academy and Stresscom, Outstanding Employers of the Year; Colorado Springs World Arena and American National Bank, Program Supporters of the Year; and Fort Carson, Decathlon Award.

Individual award winners were: Alpha Gunn, Independence Award; Aimee Starling, Achiever of the Year; Jeremy Head, Community Employee of the Year; and James Johnson, Helms Legacy Award.
