Information security conference set for June 16-17
The Third Annual Federal Information Security Conference is scheduled for June 16-17 at the Antlers Adams’ Mark Hotel.
The two-day event is designed to provide a collaborative forum for the federal government, industry and academia and serve as a clearinghouse of useful information security tools and techniques to assist information security professionals tasked with modernizing their programs.

Rotary Club planning annual golf tournament at Pine Creek
The North Colorado Springs Rotary Club has scheduled its annual Charlie Closson Memorial Golf Tournament for June at Pine Creek Golf Club, 9850 Divot Trail.
The cost to play is $125 per person through June 1 and $145 thereafter.
Proceeds from the tournament benefit Ronald McDonald Children’s Charities of Southern Colorado and other youth-related projects in the Colorado Springs area.

Parade scheduled to honor returning troops
A Ticker Tape Welcome Home Parade has been scheduled for June 5 to honor the returning troops and their families and to show them how important their work and sacrifice has been to the community.
More than 6,000 troops will march through the street of downtown Colorado Springs, mixed in with floats, marching bands and an M-1 tank. There also will be an airborne parade of F-16s, helicopters, P-51s and T-6s.
All city parking garages will be free and open for parking. It also will be a “meter holiday.”
The parade route (Tejon and Cascade from St. Vrain to Vermijo) will be closed from 9:30 a.m. to noon. Cars parked on these streets will be towed at the owners’ expense.
Salvation Army Women’s Auxiliary membership lunch
The Salvation Army Women’s Auxiliary is sponsoring a membership luncheon at 11 a.m. June 1 at the Kissing Camel’s Golf Club.
