Newborn Hope hosting ladies luncheon

Newborn Hope his hosting its second annual Ladies Nine-Hole Golf Tournament and Fashion Show on Aug. 13 at the Pueblo Country Club.

The tournament begins at 8:30 a.m. and is limited to 18 teams. The “Autumn on the Avenue” luncheon and fashion show will begin at 11 a.m. The cost is $80 per person to attend the luncheon and the tournament.

Proceeds from the event will be used to fund programs for the prevention and treatment of Respiratory Distress Syndrome.

Fine Arts Center hosting an evening of “Razzle Dazzle”

The Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center kicks off the coming season with its 11th Annual Season Opening Gala, “Razzle Dazzle,” on Sept. 11.

The event, which costs $200 per person, will highlight art, performances and programs.

Chorale holding auditions for 48th season

The Colorado Springs Chorale is holding auditions by appointment from 6:30 to 10 p.m. Aug. 17 and 18 at Colorado College’s Packard Hall Auditorium.

The 48th season includes Orff’s “Carmina Burana” and Mozart’s “Requiem” with the Colorado Springs Philharmonic, the chorale’s Christmas “Deck the Hall” and an additional major concert in March.

Fort Carson restoration advisory board meeting

Fort Carson is inviting the public to learn about environmental restoration projects on post at the quarterly Restoration Advisory Board meeting at 6:30 p.m. Aug. 12 at City Hall, 107 N. Nevada Ave.

The meeting will provide information about a variety of ongoing cleanup projects.
