PPWFC hosting regional career fair
In conjunction with Workforce Development Month, the Pikes Peak Workforce Center is hosting its annual Regional Career Fair from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sept. 8 at the Sheraton Hotel, 2886 S. Circle Drive.
Hiring companies attending the fair include Boecore, Bank of America, the City of Colorado Springs, the Colorado State Patrol, Fastenal, L3 Communications, Matrix Logistics, Modern Woodmen of America, Mosaic Inc., Northrop Grumman-Vinnell, Pima Medical Institute, Raytheon Polar Services, The Broadmoor, the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs, USAA and World Financial Group.
For express entry into the career fair, job seekers should go to www.ppwfc.org, click on upcoming hiring events, fill out the registration form and bring it to the career fair. Job seekers should bring multiple copies of their resumes to the career fair and be prepared to interview on the spot. There is no charge for job seekers to attend.
Library offering business, investment programs
The Pikes Peak Library District is hosting the following programs next week:
Minding Your Business: Learn about business resources available at the library by attending a free tour before the library opens at 8:30 a.m. Sept. 8 at the Penrose Public Library, 20 N. Cascade Ave.
Investment Tools at Your Library: Learn how to research company information and how to follow company of mutual fund performance at 8:30 a.m. Sept. 9 at the Penrose Public Library. Sources will include Value Line and Morningstar, subscription databases on the library’s Web site, and other Internet sites.

Events promote ‘Remember the Spirit’
The community is encouraged to pay tribute to those who were killed and to honor those who survived the events of 9/11 by participating in “Remember the Spirit” from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 11 in the lobby of the Antlers Hilton Hotel, 4 S. Cascade.
The event will include a food drive, blood drive and charitable contributions. Call 365-5411 for details.
