Diane Wengler attended the Republican National Convention in New York. She has been working for the past year with the Republican National Committee’s major donor program and was deputy chairwoman of the RNC’s 2004 Presidential Gala in Washington, D.C.

Shane Netherton has joined the Colorado Springs office of BKD LLP as a staff auditor. He received a bachelor’s degree in accounting in 2003 from McPherson College in McPherson, Kansas.

Lynn Pelz has been appointed director of external relations at Peak Vista Community Health Centers. She previously worked at Penrose-St. Francis Health Services and The Greater Colorado Springs Chamber of Commerce in similar positions.

Jill A. Webb has joined Add Staff Inc. as an executive recruiter. She has more than eight years of experience in the staffing industry.

Vincent Rodriguez has been promoted to project architect at Ware Malcomb. He joined the company in 2001 and recently received his architectural license for the State of Colorado.

David Martin has been named managing director of the Mountain States region from Moran & Co. He received a finance degree from Texas A&M University and a graduate certificate in finance from Southern Methodist University.

Randy Kenworthy has been appointed vice president, worldwide sales, for XAware Inc. He most recently served as CEO of Duexo Inc.

James “JB” Barthlama has joined First Community Banks as commercial loan officer for the Fort Collins area. He has more than 25 years of banking experience, most recently serving as senior vice president/commercial lending and business development with FlatIrons Bank of Boulder.

Joseph Grossi has joined Hammers Construction Inc. as marketing and sales director. He has more than 20 years of marketing and project development experience.

Darren Zethren has joined Hammers Construction Inc. as design development director. He has more than 10 years of design and land development experience.

Marsha Larson has been promoted to Executive Banking relationship manager of Vectra Bank Colorado in Colorado Springs. She has 20 years of financial services experience.

Doug Barnes has joined Vectra Bank Colorado as a mortgage loan officer in the Pikes Peak market. He has more than 10 years of experience in mortgage lending and was previously the owner of First Commonwealth Mortgage.

Greg Jones has joined the Executive Board of the AeA Mountain States Council. He is director and president, technology group, of Ramtron International Corp.

Deb Hood has received the 2004 Colorado Cancer Leadership Award for Outstanding Healthcare Professional – 3rd Annual Tim Byers Achievement Award. She is director of the Penrose Cancer Center and is the first non-medical doctor recipient of the award.

Mark R. Malone will serve as interim dean of the College of Education at the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs for the 2004-05 academic year. Malone joined the campus in 1986 as an assistant professor, was promoted to associate professor in 1991 and was named professor in 1998.

Dee Vazquez has been appointed community relations and development officer for the Pikes Peak Library District. She previously worked in non-profit and association event management.

Adrienne Kania, D.O., has been elected to president of the Board of Directors of the Colorado Springs Osteopathic Foundation.

Darrell Lovins, D.O., MPH, has been elected president-elect of the Board of Directors of the Colorado Springs Osteopathic Foundation.

Donald Schwartz, Ph.D., has been elected treasurer of the Board of Directors of the Colorado Springs Osteopathic Foundation.

Allan Greenfield, M.S., MSW, has been elected secretary of the Board of Directors of the Colorado Springs Osteopathic Foundation.

Rikki Boparai has been named director of operations for Cheyenne Mountain Resort. He has 10 years of hospitality management experience with major resorts.

Denisa Tova, MBA, ChFC, has joined The Garrett Planning Network, a network of professional fee-only financial advisors. She is CEO of DaVinci Strategic Advisors Inc.

Luisa Graff of Luisa Graff Diamonds and Jewelers of Colorado Springs participated in the second Leading Jewelers of the World membership conference in Rye, N.Y. Membership is limited, with only 42 current members and no more than 100 planned nationwide.

Julie Calhoun has joined American National Bank as assistant vice president in the private banking division. She previously worked as an assistant relationship manager in business banking.
