Air Academy hosting construction lending seminar

Air Academy Federal Credit Union is hosting a free seminar about construction lending from 10 a.m. to noon Oct. 16 at its Monument branch, 417 Third St.

The seminar will include information about the process of personal home building, from lot purchasing to construction and completion, including financing.

You do not need to be a member of the credit union to attend. Reservations must be made by Oct. 11 by calling 481-4943.

Salvation Army Women’s Auxiliary hosting craft festival

The Salvation Army Women’s Auxiliary will hold its Holiday Festival of Crafts and bake sale from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct 22 at the Salvation Army Headquarters, 908 Yuma St.

A fired chicken dinner will be served from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The cost is $5 for adults and $3 for children under 8.

Proceeds from the festival will benefit needy children in the Pikes Peak region.

AFA band kicks off Chamber Recital Series

The U.S. Air Force Academy Band’s first concert of this year’s Chamber Recital Series is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Oct. 26 at Packard Hall on the campus of Colorado College, at the corner of Cache La Poudre and Cascade.

The concert will feature Master Sgt. Scott Richardson, clarinet, Tech. Sgt. Ken Soper, French horn and Susan Grace, piano.

The event is free and open to the public, and tickets are not required.

Inventors group hosting round table meeting

The Southern Colorado Inventors will have an informal round table meeting at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 19 at Howard’s BBQ, 3350 N. Chestnut.
