AFA band kicks off Chamber Recital Series

The U.S. Air Force Academy Band’s first concert of this year’s Chamber Recital Series is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Oct. 26 at Packard Hall on the campus of Colorado College, at the corner of Cache La Poudre and Cascade.

The concert will feature Master Sgt. Scott Richardson, clarinet, Tech. Sgt. Ken Soper, French horn and Susan Grace, piano.

The event is free and open to the public, and tickets are not required.

Tri-Lakes Women’s Club hosting Wine & Roses III

The Tri-lakes Women’s Club is presenting Wine & Roses III, An Event to Attend from 6 to 9 p.m. Nov. 4 at Pinecrest Event Center, 106 Pinecrest Way, Palmer Lake.

The event will include wines from around the world, food sampling and a silent auction. Tickets are $30 in advance and $35 at the door. Reservations are limited. Tickets may be ordered by mailing a check to TLWC, Attn: Wine & Roses III, P.O. Box 669, Monument, CO 80132.

Business, investing programs available through library

The Pikes Peak Library District is offering the following business-related programs:

Investment Tools at Your Library is scheduled to begin at 8:30 a.m. Nov. 4 at the Penrose Public Library, 20 N. Cascade Ave. Information will include how to research a company and follow a company or mutual fund performance. Sources will include Value Line and Morningstar, subscription databases on the library’s Web site, and other Internet sites.

Minding Your Business is scheduled to begin at 8:30 a.m. Nov. 11 at the Penrose Public Library. Information about business resources available at the library will be included as part of a free tour before the library opens. Registration is not necessary.

A basic legal research class is scheduled for 8:30 to 10 a.m. Nov. 9 at the Penrose Public Library.
