Manufacturer’s Task Force ‘collaborating to compete’

The Colorado Springs Manufacturer’s Task Force is having a breakfast from 7 to 9 a.m. Feb. 17 at Colorado Springs Utilities Leon Young Service Center, 1521 Hancock Expressway.

The keynote speaker will be Diane Morrisey of PMB Enterprise Solutions Inc. She will discuss 5S, the foundation of Lean Six Sigma and a methodology for organizing, cleaning, developing and sustaining a productive work environment. Other topic will include, networking for business opportunities, task force success stories and best practices from the manufacturing community.

Library offering legal, business, investing programs

The Pikes Peak Library District is offering the following classes:

Minding Your Business is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. Feb. 9 at the Penrose Pubic Library. Information will be available about business resources available at the library during a free tour before the library opens. Registration is not necessary.

Investment tools at your library is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. Feb. 12 at the Penrose Public Library. The program will include instructions about how to research company information and how to follow company or mutual fund performance. Sources will include Value Line and Morningstar, subscription databases on the library’s Web site, and other Internet sites.

Youth Symphony Association hosting winter concert

The Colorado Springs Youth Symphony Association will present two band ensembles during its winter concert at 2 p.m. Feb. 13 at the Benet Hill Center, 2555 N. Chelton Road.

The concert features the Pikes Peak Concert Band, conducted by Rick Shaw; and the Pikes Peak Wind Ensemble, conducted by Richard Kusk.

Tickets, which are $7 general admission, $5 senior citizens and students, are available at the association office or at the door. For more information, call 633-3901.
