Air Force Thunderbirds to perform at Peterson airshow
Peterson Air Force Base is hosting an airshow featuring the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds on June 4. Gates will be open from 7 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.; performances are scheduled from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Admission and parking are free and shuttle bus service will be available.
There will be various world-class aerial performances at the show, including the Air Force Academy parachute demonstration team, Wings of Blue.
Nonprofit offering classes in home maintenance
Howmeowners can take advantage of a free home maintenance class offered by Colorado Housing Enterprises from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. June 1, 8 and 15 at the Hillside Community Center.
The classes will include instruction in electrical, plumbing, drywall and texture, among other topics.

Ormao at the Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center
Rarely has the arts community experienced a broader and more expressive mix of dynamic movement and dance than those created by Janet Johnson and the Ormao Dance Company.
The Performing Arts Department of the Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center is presenting Ormana at 8 p.m. June 4 and 2 p.m. June 5. Ticket prices are are $13 for FAC members in advance, $15 for non-members in advance and $17 at the door.
Highlighting the performances is the premiere of a new work choreographed by Johnson and inspired by art of Dale Chihuly.
Where fire, water, earth and air combine to create majestic solid works of art glass, Johnson incorporates elemental expressions of dance to build a form and foundation of expression that through movement, encapsulates the very style that makes Chihuly the pinnacle in his genre.
The ideas and expressions featured in this year’s concert spans a range of styles and tones, from fluid and gentle to dynamic and powerful. Johnson creates an evening of humor and drama with movement both physical and emotional that appeals to every age, taste,a nd background.
CSU Extension presenting ‘Master Food’ classes
Colorado State University is providing Master Food Preserver training in food safety, canning, freezing, jams and jellies, pickles and dehydration classes from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. June 3, 10, 17 at the CSU Extension Office, 305 S. Union Blvd.

Seminar will introduce stress management techniques
The Rocky Mountain Art of Living Organization and the Colorado Springs Small Business Development Center are hosting a free stress mangemetn seminar directed to businesses from 7 to 8:30 p.m. June 6 in conference room 4101 of the Breckenridge Building in the dorms of the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs.
The seminar is based on innovative breathing techniques that can permanently release stress and heighten mental clarity and awareness, leading to improved performance in the workplace, a greater sense of commitment and team unity, and an enhanced quality of life.
