Colorado Springs Chorale holding auditions

The Colorado Springs Chorale is holding auditions for membership from 6:30 to 10 p.m. Jan. 3 at Colorado College’s Packard Hall.

Performances include Pikes Peak Center productions of Great Choral Works Series, featuring Mozart’s “Grand Mass in C” and an appearance with the full Air Force Academy Band in “Academy Bank Spectacular.”

Auditions are by appointment only.

Start Your Own Business SCORE workshops for 2006

SCORE, Service Corps of Retired Executives, has announced the schedule for its free workshop, “Should You Start Your Own Business,” for the first half of 2006. All workshops are from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. and registration is not necessary.

  • Jan. 10: East Library, Community Room
  • Feb. 6: Penrose Library, Adult Meeting Room
  • Feb. 27: Penrose Library, Adult Meeting Room
  • March 20: East Library, Community Room
  • April 4: Penrose Library, Adult Meeting Room
  • April 25: Penrose Library, Adult Meeting Room

The workshop will include information about how to access and evaluate your business ideas, how to assess your risks and management skills while setting realistic expectations, funding realities for a start-up, marketing considerations – such as demand, customers and competition, the business plan – describing your business, the marketing plan, the financial plan and why you need one, and how SCORE counselors can help with the process.
