Mark Patterson can be seen on television explaining new tax laws, or found speaking to various groups about business and tax issues. He has helped implement several tax planning strategies involving significant tax savings for clients of closely held businesses and their owners, and large publicly traded corporations.
Patterson earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting and information systems from the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs and received a master’s degree in taxation from the University of Denver.
He has been a CPA since 1995.
Prior to joining Stockman Kast Ryan & Co., he was a tax consulting manager with Arthur Andersen. He has assisted clients with tax-free restructurings, domestic and international mergers and acquisitions.
Patterson is a board member onthe Colorado Springs Peak Venture Group and is an adviser for the Colorado Springs Technology Incubator. He is treasurer of Celebrate Technology and a past co-chairman. He also sits on the board of the Colorado College Business and Community Alliance and the Rocky Mountain Technology Alliance, and has helped the Greater Colorado Springs Chamber of Commerce in organizing several Business Leaders Roundtable sessions.
He also has served as chairman of the Young CPAs Committee and was recognized as the outstanding chairman of the year by the Arizona Society of CPAs.
