The Colorado Association of Internet Professionals is hosting a meeting about virtual networking as an online business booster from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Aug. 15 at the Rockrimmon Branch of the Pikes Peak Library, 832 Village Center Drive.
Information will be available about using online social networking to promote a business, including how to use sites as a free public relations tool in “word of mouth” advertising” and what technologies are available and what technical issues a business might encounter.

El Paso County’s Colorado State University Cooperative Extension Service is hosting two workshops about water testing and treatment.
On Aug. 15, a workshop will be held in the auditorium at 305 S. Union Blvd. On Aug. 17, a workshop will be held in Swink Hall at the El Paso County Fairgrounds, 366 10th St. in Calhan. Both workshops start at 7 p.m.
The workshops will help participants understand results of water tests conducted by the service. There also will be a groundwater flow model to determine how contaminants can enter water.
Participants will receive bulletins and fact sheets about water testing and treatment systems, as well as a record keeping folder.

The Junior League of Colorado Springs is hosting a membership information night from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Aug. 16.
The Junior League is a women’s volunteer organization that has been addressing community needs for more than 80 years. The group has founded and fostered organizations and events such as Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, CASA, Court Care, Safe Kids, Ronald McDonald House, Children’s Literacy Center and the Care Fair Health Fair.
