One of the best kept secrets in Colorado Springs is the Center for Creative Leadership and the Community Leadership Program.
This program, in its 16th year, is offered to community leaders and/or emerging community leaders in the interest of developing and enhancing the quality of leadership in the community. All those accepted into the program receive a $3,000 scholarship from the center to defray the $3,700 cost of the program.
Next year, the program runs from May 29 to June 1, the week following Memorial Day.
The intent of this program is to capture the transformational experience of an executive leadership program and combine it with stimulating thought, investigation and reflection about the responsibilities of the emerging community leader. The program addresses leadership and performance development, team effectiveness, feedback and goal setting.
The Center for Creative Leadership is a nonprofit, educational institution with international reach. For more than three decades its mission has been to advance the understanding, practice and development of leadership for the benefit of society worldwide.
Center staff members conduct research, produce publications, and provide programs and assessment products to leaders and organizations in all sectors of society.
In a 2005 Financial Times survey, the center earned an overall Top 10 ranking worldwide among providers of executive education. In addition, CCL ranked third worldwide for open-enrollment programs.
The center has had a presence in Colorado Springs for more than 20 years, with the campus opening in 1992, offering both open-enrollment and custom programs.
Are you a community leader or interested in taking a larger role in community leadership in Colorado Springs? The center is seeking applicants from business, industry, education, nonprofits and government to ensure a good cross section of the community.
Individuals wishing to apply for the Community Leadership Program may contact the center at 633-3891 or to request an application and program description.
