Conservatory presents ‘Amahl and the Night Visitors’

The Colorado Springs Conservatory and the Chamber Orchestra of the Springs is bringing “Amahl and the Night Visitors” to Colorado Springs, Woodland Park and Pueblo.

The one-act holiday opera by American composer Gian Carlo Menotti is sung in English.

Performances are scheduled for the following dates:

Dec. 18, Sangre De Cristo Arts Center, Pueblo, 7 p.m. Admission of $1 will go toward scholarship programs at the Center for Children with Disabilities. Call (719) 295-7222 or visit www.sdc-arts.org for tickets or more information.

Dec. 19, Pikes Peak Center, Colorado Springs, 7 p.m. Seating is first-come, first-served. Donations accepted at the door.

PPWFC hosting workshops, networking groups

The Pikes Peak Workforce Center is hosting several workshops and networking groups this month. There is no charge, but registration is usually required. To register, visit www.ppwfc.org and click on the job seeker icon and then on workshops.

CareerScope: Career Planning, 9 a.m. to noon, Wednesdays. Computer Basics, 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. (instructor-led session) and 3 to 5 p.m. (practice, open lab), Mondays. Register online.

Success Profiler: Emotional Intelligence Development, Dec. 22 and 29.
