On January 26, Nancy Lewis completed her year as chairwoman of the Greater Colorado Springs Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors. In her remarks at the chamber’s annual dinner, she reflected on her service with the following comments regarding the opportunity for our community to work together:
This chamber is a progressive organization. We exist to support and foster business. We’ve been working hard to assist in building a cohesive community. We’ve learned that singular ownership is no longer most important … but rather building relationships, partnerships and joint ventures in which no single entity controls, commands or owns. We need to form alliances to advance this very important part of the state of Colorado. We value the transfer of knowledge from one generation to the next and the sharing of information in such a way that respect is always present. While there may be differences of opinion, with dialogue a common direction will emerge.
