The Pikes Peak Workforce Center has announced its April schedule for networking groups and workshops.
All events will take place at the PPWC main office, 2306 E. Pikes Peak Ave.

Job Shop: Guided Job Search: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. April 3 or 17 — Intensive job search guidance and organization, including resume and portfolio development, job application, ads, networking, interviewing and negotiation.
Resume “Righting!” — Drop-in resume workshop: 2 to 3:30 p.m. April 5, 12, 19 or 26 — Provides resume and portfolio basics and is designed for those who urgently need a resume update or as a head-start for Job Shop. No registration necessary.
Self Employment: The Driver’s Seat: 10 to 11 a.m. April 10 or 24 — Explore a range of resources for starting a business, including legal issues to keep in mind.
Executive Group: 10 a.m. to noon, Wednesdays
Professional Group: 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m., Wednesdays
Over-55 Job Seekers: 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Tuesdays
Veterans: 8:30 to 10:30 a.m., first, second and fourth Wednesdays

The Better Business Bureau of Southern Colorado is hosting a year-long series to help businesses improve their communication skills. Called “Sweet Talk,” the series will feature communication experts who will share techniques and information about enhancing the communication process.
The seminars are from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. in the Adult Reading Room of the Penrose Library, 20 N. Cascade Ave. The cost is $15 for BBB members and $20 for non-members if paid in advance, and $25 for members and $30 for non-members if paid at the door. Members can attend all the seminars for $100; $150 for non-members.
