The Better Business Bureau of Southern Colorado is hosting a year-long series of seminars to help businesses improve their communication skills. Called “Sweet Talk,” the series will feature communication experts who will share techniques and information about enhancing the communication process.
The seminars are from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. in the Adult Reading Room of the Penrose Library, 20 N. Cascade Ave. The cost is $15 for BBB members and $20 for non-members if paid in advance, and $25 for members and $30 for non-members if paid at the door.

The Service Corps of Retired Executives is hosting a free workshop entitled “Should you start your own business” June 19, Penrose Library Adult Meeting Room
The Penrose Library is at 20 N. Cascade Ave. The East Library is at 5550 N. Union Blvd.
The workshop is from 6 to 8:30 p.m. and will include information about the rewards of starting a small business, the attributes of a successful entrepreneur, business planning (including how to determine your cash requirements), and the legal form of your business entity.

The 47th Annual Colorado Springs Street Breakfast is scheduled for 5:30 to 9 a.m. June 20 at the intersection of Pikes Peak Avenue and Tejon Street.
The event is part of the annual Range Riders’ Ride, which marks the beginning of Rodeo Week and the Pikes Peak or Bust Rodeo Days, and includes a pancake breakfast prepared and served by Fort Carson personnel, a children’s play area and musical entertainment.
The cost is $5, and children 5 and younger eat free. All proceeds benefit Armed Forces Community Services (Military Family Assistance).
