It’s become all too evident that the world’s twenty somethings – and even thirty somethings in the case of yours truly – don’t think too much about financial planning.
But, a Pennsylvania company has come up with an idea to change all that and pique once and for all the retirement planning interests of young people. Their plan: YouTube and MySpace cartoons intended to illustrate the importance of financial planning.
Read about them in an investmentnews.com story.
The hosts of the cartoon are Jack, a 23-year-old sous chef who needs financial guidance and an older, financial advisor with a German accent made to look like Albert Einstein, because everyone knows that Einstein was a, um, financial services genius, right?
Don’t get me wrong, twenty somethings – and thirty somethings – could no doubt use the help, but I fear that the cartoon in its simplicity borders on insulting.
