The Children’s Literacy Center is hosting the 11th Annual Vintners Dinner on Sept. 14 at The Garden of the Gods Club.
Proceeds from the event help to provide one-on-one tutoring to more than 1,200 children annually.

The Beacon of Hope Outreach Center is hosting the Operation Hope/America Supports You Freedom Walk at 10 a.m. Sept. 8 at Fort Carson.
The walk will commemorate 9/11, honor veterans and civil servants, celebrate freedom and show support for U.S. troops.

Alzheimer’s Association hosting Memory Walk
The Alzheimer’s Association’s annual Memory Walk is scheduled for Sept. 8 at America the Beautiful Park.
Nearly 1,500 people from El Paso, Teller, Elbert and Park counties are expected to participate.
The event is intended to raise awareness and money for Alzheimer’s care, support and research programs. More than $200 million has been raised by the walks.
