Online auction Web site eBay is giving the boot to sellers looking to pawn off recalled toy items.
The company sent notices to sellers this week warning that they could be kicked off the Web site and may have to forfeit their fees.
A warning to buyers was also posted on eBay.
The warnings come after toy maker Mattel, along with a number of smaller toy companies, recalled some 21 million toys over concerns about lead paint or magnets that could be swallowed.
The issue sheds light on the growing difficulty of publicizing recalls in the e-commerce marketplace.
A list of recalled items and product numbers is available at Mattel’s Web site.
