Centura Health is developing a medical complex in Castle Rock that will eventually house a full-service hospital.

The health care system, which also owns Penrose-St. Francis Health Services, is building a medical campus that initially will offer emergency room services, imaging and laboratory services, along with a medical office building.

The first phase of outpatient services and a medical office building are expected to be completed by the end of 2009. Construction of the full-service hospital will begin shortly after the first phase is completed.

The complex will be on 50 acres at The Meadows in Castle Rock.

The entire project is estimated to cost more than $120 million.
