Walgreens, AARP launch Web store

Walgreens has teamed up with the American Association of Retired Persons to launch an e-commerce site and catalog.

AARP.walgreens.com will carry more than 20,000 discounted health, beauty and wellness products.

As an incentive to order online, the site will offer free shipping on orders of more than $50 and a 5 percent product discount for AARP members. Members can return or exchange items at any of Walgreens location.

Baby boomers spend more than $525 billion a year on health care and are responsible for 61 percent of all over-the-counter medication purchases, according to a report published by The Resource for Marketing Executives.
