The Wits End Comedy Club is planned to open in the in the space formerly occupied by the longtime west side gay nightclub, Hide N’ Seek, at 508 W. Colorado Ave.

Kevin Murphy of Murphy Constructors, which recently completed a $450,000 upgrade to the building, said plans for a new kitchen for the comedy club have been submitted to regional building officials for approval and that the club is scheduled to open sometime this spring.

Murphy said parking for the club will be available behind the building and that a drive-through entrance from Colorado will provide access to the parking lot.

Wits End owners also operate another club by the same name in Westminster.

The Hide N’ Seek closed in 2005 along with two next-door smaller venues at 512 and 516 W. Colorado that once housed The Branding Iron and Women to Women.

No tenants have been found for the two smaller spaces.
