El Paso County and the city of Colorado Springs’ Economic Development Divisions have received approval from the Colorado Economic Development Commission to add the United States Olympic Committee retention and expansion project to the list of eligible Enterprise Zone projects.
The approval will provide state income tax credits to donors who contribute to the project.
Cash contributions will be eligible for a state income tax credit equal to 25 percent of the amount contributed. In-kind contributions are limited to 12.5 percent.
The USOC project is the eleventh enterprise project to be approved this year.
Other projects include Goodwill Industries’ job training programs, Colorado Festival of World Theatre, Downtown Colorado Springs Streetscape, University of Colorado at Colorado Springs capital projects, Assistance League, Pikes Peak Community Foundation non-profit assistance project, Goodwill Industries South Circle retail center, Mountain Post Historical Center, Westside Cares, and the Business and Education Talent Readiness Project of the Pikes Peak Workforce Center.
In all, there are 51 Enterprise Zone approved projects.
