In an effort to cut costs, the Greater Colorado Springs Chamber of Commerce is moving from its offices at 2 N. Cascade Ave. into the Exchange National Bank building at 6 S. Tejon St., suite 700.
The new location, where U.S. Bank is located, has lower rent, said Joan Saunders, chamber chief operating officer.
“Our lease was running out, and we received this offer at very reasonable rates,” she said. “We decided to move until we build or buy our own building, which will happen in the next 24 to 36 months.”
The chamber will occupy all of the seventh floor and part of the eighth floor of the building.
The move is not related to discussions about a merger between the chamber and the Economic Development Corp, Saunders said.
The Office of International Affairs, which is located at the chamber offices, will also move to the new location.
The move is scheduled for Jan. 14, but the chamber will operate out of both sites until the end of January, Saunders said.
at the rate she’s managing that place there won’t be any staff left to move in!
