22 percent dump resolutions after a week

For 22 percent of us, our New Year’s resolutions will be history in another five days.

The Journal of Clinical Psychology, says that’s how many people abandon their New Year’s resolutions after only one week.

The study’s authors say three main factors contribute to short-lived resolutions – clearly defined goals are not set, progress is not monitored or self control on the part of the resolver is lacking.

  1. For a better shot at success, you have to change those resolutions from “wishes” to “goals”. Goals are specific, measurable, and have target dates. Put them on paper and post them where you will see them at least twice a day. The bathroom mirror is great because you see your goals the first thing in the morning and the last thing at night. Reading them outloud helps imprint them on your subconscious. Try it………
