Americans pocketed more money in 3Q 2007

Personal income growth grew to 1.4 percent during the third quarter of 2007 from 0.9 percent during the second quarter.

The Bureau of Economic Analysis is also reporting that state-by-state personal income growth rates during the third quarter ranged from 0.8 percent to 3.6 percent, with growth accelerating or holding steady in all but 11 states.

Colorado ranked seventeenth for personal income growth to reach more than $20 billion, the highest income recorded in the five-state Rocky Mountain region. That was down, however, from the third quarter 2006 when personal incomes grew by 2 percent.
