The Memorial Health System Board of Trustees has named Larry McEvoy, M.D. as interim CEO and announced that Dick Eitel will retire on March 31.
McEvoy joined Memorial Health System during October as chief medical officer.
He’s a board-certified fellow of the American College of Emergency Medicine and received his medical degree and internship/residency training at Stanford University and Hennepin County Hospital in Minneapolis.
McEvoy’s experience includes serving in executive roles at the Billings Clinic, a multi-specialty hospital in Billings, Montana where he consulted about leadership development and operations improvement while working as an emergency physician.
Memorial’s board will appoint a search committee and anticipates that it will take several months to select a CEO.
Eitel plans to attend law school and spend more time with his family.
