The Department of Defense has chosen Citibank to provide travel charge card services for its members.
Bank of America is the program’s current vendor, but Citibank will become the provider in November.
The mandatory travel charge card provides benefits such as no interest charges, delayed late fees and insurance benefits.
The DoD has 1.2 million card holders who accounted for 61 percent of government-wide travel spending in 2006.
The Citibank contract is estimated to be worth $40 billion over the next 10 years.
