Volunteers from all 50 states helping with Senior Open

Golf enthusiasts say a golf-world milestone has been reached by the 2008 U.S. Senior Open championship because volunteers from all 50 states have signed up to help.

The top five states for volunteer recruitment are Colorado (2,355), Texas (81), Kansas (60), Arizona (39) and Nebraska (36). A total of 3,000 volunteers are needed to work the championship.

The U.S. Senior Open, scheduled July 28 – Aug. 3 at The Broadmoor, has ticket buyers from 41 states as well as Canada and Scotland.
