The El Paso County Board of Commissioners has approved two economic development measures.
The first was a contract between the state of Colorado’s Economic Development Commission and El Paso County, granting $12,500 to market and promote its enterprise zone, one of 16 in the state.
The zone covers parts of Colorado Springs, Manitou Springs and Fountain, and all of eastern El Paso County east of Meridian Road. Businesses located in these areas are eligible for some state income tax credits, and supporters of eligible projects that serve the zone receive credits for contributions.
The second item was a resolution declaring the county’s intent to issue revenue bonds that would assist low and middle income residents in financing a home purchase.
