Congress.org released its annual Congressional “power rankings” today, and it wasn’t particularly good news for the Colorado delegation.
Colorado Democrats, with the exception of Rep. Diana DeGette (D-Denver), were judged to be at best mediocre, while Colorado Republicans were at or near the bottom of the list.
Criteria used in compiling the list included position, indirect influence, tenure in Congress, and success in the so-called “Bacon Index,” the effectiveness at securing funds for projects in the member’s district.
Doug Lamborn, who represents the 5th Congressional District, which includes Colorado Springs, brought up the rear at 411 out of 435.
That’s an improvement from last year, when Lamborn was ranked 427.
