Allison Nagel was a Red Cross volunteer at ground zero the week of Sept. 11, 2001.
One can usually find her where people need help. She developed and facilitates the only support group for families of suicide attempters in the county. She is the county’s specialist for the media on a variety of relevant injury and violence topics.
She developed a training curriculum for schools to implement suicide prevention into the classroom based on research-based practices.
Nagel serves with a variety of local organizations including the Coalition for the Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect, Drive Smart, Safe Kids, Suicide Prevention Education and Awareness Coalition and the Stop Family Violence Coalition.
She received the Chancellor’s Scholarship from the University of Denver’s Graduate School of Social Work as recognition for her work in Costa Rica with street children.
She is married to Will Nagel.
