Amy Sufak has traveled to more than 20 countries. Every time she leaves a country she gives away everything in her suitcase to either a local orphanage or to people in need.
The tradition began when she was in the military and now is being passed down to her daughters. On a recent trip to Mexico, her daughter gave away her clothes and toys to a nearby village.
In her current position at Penrose, Sufak is responsible for a staff that oversees media relations, internal communications, sponsorships, community affairs, legislative affairs and marketing. She has been at Penrose for one year.
She is involved with Community Health Partnership. She also is responsible for connecting Penrose to dozens of community nonprofits such as the American Cancer Society, Susan G. Komen March of Dimes and the Arthritis Foundation.
Sufak was in the Air Force for 11 years and was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal.
She is a member of the Colorado Springs Chamber Rising Professionals. In her free time she enjoys playing outdoor soccer.
Her husband’s name is Scott, and they have two daughters, Olivia, 2 and Maile, 4.
