Nunn Construction Co. has begun work on a $22 million LEED gold-certified student union building at Western State College in Gunnison.
The project was designed by Slaterpaull Architects and WTW Architects.
Nunn senior project manager Jim Pagano and onsite project superintendent Andy McGarrity will lead the project, which is scheduled for completion during November 2009.
The doldrums of summer have given way to a slightly brisker pace — at least based on the number of new commercial real estate transaction reports coming in. Here’s a brief overview of the action:
Glacier Woodwork has leased 3,500 square feet of office and warehouse space at 1120 Elkton Drive in the Garden Park Business Center.
The millwork shop produces cabinetry and custom furniture.
Andrew Madden of Grubb & Ellis Quantum Commercial Group represented both the landlord, Elkton-Garden Park LLC, and the tenant.
Shop Tools Inc. has signed a lease for 3,000 square feet at 1110 Elkton Drive in Garden Park.
Madden again represented the tenant and the landlord in the transaction.
Richfield Orion International Inc. has leased 1,000 square feet of office space in the Vantage Point building at 5373 N. Union Blvd.
Andrew Oyler of Grubb & Ellis Quantum Commercial Group represented the landlord, Vantage Point Manager LLC, and Nicola Myers-Murty of Sierra Commercial Real Estate represented the tenant.
Genesys Technologies has leased 1,600 square feet of industrial space at the Garden of the Gods Industrial Park.
The high-tech research and development company was represented by Susan Beitle of Grubb & Ellis Quantum Commercial Group and the landlord, John J. Gogian Revocable Trust, was represented by Frank Tuck of NAI Highland Commercial Group.
The law firm of Warszawski, Kazimierz & Natalie has leased 6,764 square feet of office space at 3692 E. Bijou Street from Halax-Wood LLC.
Tim Leigh, Steve Leigh and R.D. Trinidad of Hoff & Leigh represented both sides of the transaction.
Rusin Ltd., a foundation and flatwork concrete company, has purchased a 5,000-square-foot office/warehouse building at 1472 Woolsey Heights in Claremont Business Park from Hammers Construction Co.
The price was just under $600,000.
Hammers also has leased a 2.3 acre lot at 1426 Selix Grove to S&A Concrete, a concrete fence manufacturer.
S&A will build a 7,500-square-foot headquarters on the property.
And Total Fabrication Solutions LLC has leased 5,000-square-foot building at 1453 Woolsey Heights on two-thirds of an acre. The sheet metal prototyping designer and manufacturer is scheduled to move in this month.

The branch office will be called Wiechert Realtors — Pikes Peak Group. Weichert Realtors is one of the largest privately owned providers of real estate services in the United States.
In celebration of the opening of Northgate Pointe office condos, developer Tim Leigh, the Hoff & Leigh brokers and the Tri-Lakes Chamber are hosting a benefit for the American Red Cross at 7 p.m. Sept. 25 at 13570 Meadowgrass Drive.
The two-building campus is half a mile east of Interstate 25.
The Northtree Ranch House recreation center, the 7,500-square-foot centerpiece of Banning Lewis Ranch’s 371-acre debut community, has earned national recognition as one of the country’s best public/private recreational use facilities.
The center was designed by Danielian Associates of Irvine, Calif., and built by Golden Triangle Construction, which has offices in Colorado Springs.
The project was chosen from among 520 entries to receive an Award of Merit.
