Snowstorm shuts down most of the Springs

While most local weather forecasters say snowy flurries should clear by noon, the storm has still shut down most of the city today.

All city and county offices are closed, along with a number of businesses and banks. Visit the FOX 21 News Web site to view a list of closures and delayed openings.

City traffic cameras for multiple intersections can be viewed at Springsgov.com.

The Colorado Springs Airport is open, but most flights have been delayed. Flights are expected to return to normal by the end of the day.

El Paso County has 36 plow trucks and about 20 graders in service. Traffic officials are still advising against travel today because crews reported “brutal” winds and snow drifts in the eastern part of the county.
