Women who have their dream job and want to help others along the career path will unite with women who are entering the work force during the Junior League of Colorado Springs third annual Mentor Walk.
The walk is scheduled for 8 a.m. May 2 at the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs.
Attendees will be matched with women of similar career paths and interests.
The free event includes a one-mile walk, followed by a light breakfast and a presentation by Susan Davies, KOAA news reporter.
Last year, nearly 100 women participated, and Mentor Walk Chair Sherri Albertson expects about that many this year. Mentors and mentees include women from a variety of career fields, including education, real estate, media, public relations, small business owners, entrepreneurs, and military civilians, officers and enlisted.
“It’s a good exchange of information – plus they get to exercise,” Albertson said.
“Mentors love being able to talk with other women, and the mentees enjoy hearing their experiences and then having someone they can e-mail or call in the future with questions.”
