More than 500 people poured into the Broadmoor Hotel last month for the 18th annual Wine Festival’s Grand Tasting & Wine Market Auction.

Wine connoisseurs and foodies sampled more than 300 wines and culinary delights from the area’s finest restaurants and caterers as they danced to the music of Tiny Barge.

Earlier in the evening, all six of the nation’s top female master sommeliers and winemakers talked about the evolution of women in wine at a seminar where participants sampled their wares.

The festival continued Saturday night at the Garden of the Gods Club with a five-course Gourmet Winemaker Dinner. Each course was paired with the wines of six female guest winemakers. The evening ended with a live auction of rare wine and wine-related lifestyle packages.

The festival earned about $120,000 for the Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center.
