Work has started on the $15 million condo project, 28 West, that will overlook Monument Valley Park.
The location at 28 West Monument St. sat vacant for years without any building plans until architect David Barber, builder Mike Branan and developer Bob Elliott announced plans for the project last fall.
But, in Colorado Springs many development announcements are made that never become a reality.
But, work on 28 West, near Colorado College and the Fine Arts Center, is expected to be complete this spring.
The Branan Co. is overseeing the shell construction and final build out.
The building’s main level, raised to be on-grade with the existing Monument Valley trail, will be dedicated to double-car and tandem garages. Each of the four 10,000-square-foot living floors can be divided into a maximum of four units. Each level is served by two elevators, and individual residences will have their own plumbing and electrical systems.
