Senior citizen conference scheduled for June 3

Hundreds of senior citizens will converge on Denver June 3 for the 2009 Salute to Seniors conference at the Colorado Convention Center.

The event is being billed as a networking and marketing resource for seniors and caregivers.

More than 130 vendors are expected to be on hand with products and senior-specific information.

The theme for the conference is “1950s Movies.” Actress Shirley Jones is scheduled to perform.

A number of informational program are scheduled, including Hearing Aid Technology, Identity Theft, and Financial Planning for Long Term Care.

There will be free bone density tests, glucose tests and cholesterol checks. Cardiovascular screenings will be available for $30. Pharmacists will be there to dispose of out of date medications.

Some employers will be recruiting seniors looking for full- or part-time work.
