Most working folks aren’t thinking retirement yet – especially in the midst of a recession. Their parents and older relatives, on the other hand, might be considering alternatives to typical single family or apartment housing.
If that’s the case, the city’s first Parade of Retirement Homes, scheduled for June 6 and 7, might be just the ticket.
Stops on the tour will include six luxury retirement communities, including Cheyenne Place, Inn at Garden Plaza, MacKenzie Place, Palisades at Broadmoor Park, Viewpointe and the Village at Skyline.
The tour offers a chance to preview a range independent living home styles, locations, floorplans, prices, features and services available.
The tour is free and will offer entertainment and giveaways. Parade communities can be visited in any order. After a brief registration, guests will receive a Parade Passport to be stamped at all six communities.
Free tickets and maps are available at King Soopers stores.
This parade is sponsored by Kaiser Permanente, Imago Home Transitions, Beo Mobility and Personal Care, Penrad Imaging, Peak Vista, Senior Housing Solutions, Bekins Northwest Moving and Storage, and Things Forgotten.
