Betsy Wernet has joined Re/Max Properties Inc. as a broker associate in the north office. She was a registered nurse for 14 years before becoming a licensed Realtor.

Paul Jensen has joined Re/Max Properties Inc. as a broker associate in the north office. He was a firefighter and paramedic for 14 years, and also has 13 years of retail management experience.

Kathy Spykstra has been named Teacher of the Year by the Challenger Learning Center. She is a fifth-grade science and social studies teacher at The Denver Christian School in Highlands Ranch.

Tom Runnells has been named bench coach of the Colorado Rockies. He most recently was manager of the Colorado Springs Sky Sox.

Stu Cole has been named manager of the Colorado Springs Sky Sox. He previously was manager of the Tulsa Drillers.

Paul Niedermuller CPA has been named partner of Clifton Gunderson. He has worked with numerous state and local government and nonprofit audit clients.

Mike English has been named chief of sports performance for the U.S. Olympic Committee. He joined the organization during 2004 and most recently was managing director of athlete facilities and services.

Desiree Filippone has been named director of government relations for the U.S. Olympic Committee. She has more than 14 years of experience in government relations and public policy, including positions with the Clinton administration and U.S. Sen. Evan Bayh of Indiana.

John McWilliams has been named chief human resources officer for the U.S. Olympic Committee. He has more than 20 years of experience in business development, human resources and employee relations, most recently as senior vice president of organizational effectiveness/chief human resources officer for CUNA Mutual Group.

Suzanne Gerdes has been named sales executive for the Colorado Springs Renaissance Hotel. She will specialize in the social, military, education, religion and fraternal markets.

Jo Ann Friedly has earned membership in ERA International’s 90+ Club. She has been a Realtor in Colorado Springs since 1984 and has worked for ERA Shields Real Estate since 1991.

Sonya Anyanwu has earned membership in ERA International’s 90+ Club. She has been a Realtor for more than 11 years and works for ERA Shields Real Estate.

Heinz Buschang has been named dean of the School of Management of Regis University’s College for Professional Studies. He has been an affiliate faculty member at Regis since 2000.
