The 1,000 plus physician members of the El Paso County Medical Society have offered the Physician’s Rx Care (PRC) discount drug card at no cost to any person in our community who is paying out-of-pocket for prescription medications since 2005. Patients utilizing the EPCMS Physician’s Rx Care discount drug card save on all brand name and generic prescription medications at over 55,000 pharmacies in the U.S., Puerto Rico and Guam and over 60 in El Paso and Teller County. As of the end of 1st quarter 2009: over 42,000 prescriptions filled; $517,950 total savings over U&C of $1,636,824; in the 1st quarter of 2009 the average savings for individuals using the EPCMS card was 37%; over 50,000 cards have been requested and distributed.

This card functions along with the Prescription Assistance Solution Service (PASS) program that has put over five million dollars in free prescriptions into the hands of El Paso and Teller county residents. For more information call our coordinator, Diana Atcheson at 719.329.7103.
