The Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriters, and insurance trade organization, will hold its annual convention Aug. 29 through Sept. 1 in Denver.

For the first time, CPCU will open its conference registration to non-society members. “The society must venture outside its comfort level and embrace the future by expanding its base of potential participants,” CPCU President Marvin Kelly said in a statement.

Former Denver Mayor Wellington Webb and current state Insurance Commissioner Marcy Morrison are scheduled to speak Aug. 31.

A charity golf tournament will be held at the Fox Hollow Golf Course in Lakewood on Aug. 28.
