Meeting tonight to address city revenue shortfall

The Colorado Springs Leadership Institute will host a forum from 5:30 to 7 p.m. tonight at the Carnegie Room of the Penrose Library, 20 N. Cascade Ave.

Presenters will offer the latest facts about the city revenue shortfall.

“Unless we find major solutions now, we will see huge cuts in programs and services in 2010, which may include the loss of police and fire jobs, said CSLI co-executive director Lorne Kramer in a statement. “We planned the forum out of concern for our city. We want people to know the facts. Now is the time for citizens to work together to find solutions.”

Speakers include Dave Csintyan, president and CEO of the Colorado Springs Chamber of Commerce; Dan Stuart, chair of the City Sustainability Committee; Dr. Fred Crowley, associate research professor at the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs; Todd Luce of Luce Research; John Weiss, publisher of the Colorado Springs Independent; Lorne Kramer and Janet Suthers, co-executive directors of CSLI.

Leaders representing the Colorado Springs business and nonprofit community have been invited.
