Hundreds of visitors to the Marian House Soup Kitchen were treated to free pizza as they were welcomed by a visit from the Little Caesar’s Love Kitchen as it rolled through Colorado Springs today.
The Love Kitchen, a corporate food service operation on 18-wheels that travels the United States and Canada has fed more than 1.5 million people in need.
“We’re thrilled to partner with Little Caesars, whose mission for this program, to feed the hungry. Their goal is right in line with ours,” said Rochelle Schlortt, director of communications for Catholic Charities.
The Marian House provided the regular daily meal, but the pizza kitchen will be set up in the parking lot to provide pizza to guests of the Marian House who want to enjoy pizza in place of, or in addition to the regular meal.
The Love Kitchen focuses on special programs and disaster relief efforts such as during October 2001 when it helped feed the rescue workers at the World Trade Center site and went to New Orleans to help the victims of Hurricane Katrina.
